Today, our official piece of paper arrived.
Our marriage certificate, on official paper, signatures and everything, with seal.
We sent the $13 to get the official copy. You know, for just in case the fundie nutjobs get their way in November.
So even if our right to the same marriage as everyone else is taken away, we still have our piece of paper.
You can’t take away our happiness, either. And should you actually manage to win, know that we’ll keep trying. We’ll keep getting married. We’ll keep in your faces until you can treat us like the human beings we are.
Suck that, bitches.
Congrats on getting the “official” paper. I wish I could get one as well, but in no way will the vote in November negate anything in your love and devotion. (but I imagine having that piece of paper is wonderful).
congrats! that’s so exciting! we’re getting married in august…i’m just enjoying the ride & hoping for the best…not dwelling on the november bulls**t. i really hope that californians would not vote to TAKE RIGHTS AWAY from people…but very exciting news about the piece of paper!

Thanks for the congratulations, wvhillcountry, christina. And good luck, christina. Time must be getting short.
Jane & Jack … We are not going to reply by e-mail because we’re not sure you’re legit. We considered not approving your comment. But in the interest of helping you — I don’t think there’s any way you can get help through the mail. We got our official certificate because we had already had the ceremony performed, in person.
Your best bet at this point, if money were not an object, would be to go to California while you still can. However, it is certain that your country would not legally recognize the marriage, so it would be no different than having a ceremony for yourselves at home.
It’s important to remember that your identity, at this point, is what you make of it.
