Jade and Lizzie are figuring out this whole marriage thing.
We’ve been together for four years, but have been friends for seven years.
We figured out that love is about the person, and not the gender.
She
Means everything to me
She
Makes me feel nothing else matters
Not even what the world thinks of me
She, Jen Foster
I stumbled upon your journal while looking for a good read– I’m the white partner in a interracial lesbian couple and hopefully I’ll be taking the marriage plunge in the next couple of years.
Congratulations and best of luck to the both of you!

Good luck to you as well, Stephanie.
Lizzie and Jade,
I really enjoy reading your blog. My partner and I live in KY and would love to get married too. We have been together almost 4 years and she is just now coming out to her family. We can empathize. Just wanted to say great job with your blog. It makes me smile to see that other people are enjoying life the same way we are… together…
Have a great summer.
Kristy
Thanks, Kristy.
God, coming out can be really difficult, can’t it? I hope your partner’s family is taking it well. And I hope they can see the happiness of your relationship.
For people who’d been living in semi-secrecy, the wedding/ceremony(ies) were like a salve on the soul. I am not a girly girl who fantasizes about such things, but I’d recommend a ceremony to anyone. We could use that public affirmation, too, not just the straights. And you really find out how cool your friends really are.
Best of luck to you and your partner.
